1. on discourse, create test user account ONE with email ONE@one.com and leave at default notification settings
2. configure a discourse group inbox with an email-in email address TWO@two.com
3. send an email from a 3rd email address THREE@three.com, not on discourse, to TWO@two.com with a cc to ONE@one.com
4. check ONE@one.com email: you will see two emails:
   • email from THREE@three.com
   • email from discourse

What I would expect and hope for is that at step 4 the test user would only get the email from THREE@three.com. They would not get an email from discourse at all, though the notification can and should still appear on the notification menu when next they log in.

This issue is not a major one for staff, but it can and will get confusing and annoying for members who will get an extra email and not know where to go to reply.

Furthermore, I hope that I could change the username of already registered users without big troubles.

Note that it should also be possible to convert a question topic to a non-question/normal topic.

This would be very helpful and fun for large communities, and it would add something for the communiy to thrive and reach for. Thanks for reading!

This would be great for Plugin Developers for Minecraft, they like to reach certain goals for downloads, or users registered. It would be great for software developers, and to be able to see how many downloads their link has gotten and make goals to where each Milestone reached, they’ll do something like add a new feature. Photographers, see how many photos they have published, and if they reach a milestone, they’ll donate to a good cause. A website designer, if they reach a certain amount of views, maybe they’ll make a special design for the views/downloads they have gotten from their links or forums. There are many purposes this can have. Goals will help people thrive to earn the reward(s) or just to try and get the community more active.

This also grows into statistics in general for Discourse.

General Statistics and specific statistics would be very helpful and handy, such as a card on a link showing how many downloads or clicks it has recieved.
