user will attempt to login but will not be aware that there was an error.
There are two possible solutions 1. move error message closer to the Login button 2. scroll page to error message
3. missing spacing between buttons
4. Badges - missing some padding text is too close to the left edge.

One question: what about images in oneboxes? I think we should also optimize & cache them. What do you think?
The following onebox, The image that is loaded as a thumbnail is 2500x1667 4MB
Facebook approach isto serve image via a safe_image.php script will cache and resize the original image to a manageable thumbnail size.
onebox should be able to cache / resize external images if needed.

@sam @awesomerobot Looks like something broke in the last update.
When you scroll the menu pins over on the left.
I'm guessing this is related to a different sized fixed width design. We should just change HTG to use the same width as the rest of the Discourse sites, it's not a big deal, and probably adds complexity to manage.

These examples use postProcessText

The reason I'd like to change the text as it's generated is because later I might want to stop linking the keyword. Or I might want existing posts with keywords to be targeted too. Neither of those options is possible with the references above.

Yes, I understand that there are ways to upgrade manually, but I firmly believe that the simple 1-click upgrade button should not install an unstable version of Discourse.
If anything, there should be an option to install the latest stable and latest unstable version. Either that, or the button should simply avoid the beta release altogether.

Hi
I would like to use the new vBulletin import script but I'm just wondering what CSV files are expected for group and forum mappings? Sorry if I'm being a bit dumb.
It's pretty obvious that it's expecting CSV files from the user, usergroup, forum, thread and post tables but as far as I'm aware there are no group mapping or forum mapping SQL tables. I'm running VB4.
Any help would be very much appreciated!

I just installed a new Discourse forum (1.0.0), and I want to set up private (sub)categories, with C/R/S permissions to a single group.
When creating a category, or subcategory, or when editing one, I can’t remove a permission: clicking on the white-on-blue cross immediately closes the modal window. I don’t have any JS error in my console.
Also, I can’t just add permissions to the group (when validating the form, new permissions shows “Everyone can Create / Reply / See” again), but it may be normal, as the new permission is a subset of the default one.
This is a screenshot of the incrimined form (I can’t post images yet, so please copy that link):forum.3wa.fr/uploads/default/55/64611dc9119bbb03.png
I tried this on a recent Firefox, and Chromium, under GNU/Linux. Another forum admin tried too, and can reproduce the bug.

How can I change the caption?
I tried renaming the file and re-uploading it, but the system's too smart. It recognized that it was the same image and reused the previous upload, including the less than desirable caption.

Today I had an interesting situation when trying to create a topic here on meta, which I was able to reproduce as follows:
create new topic
upload a file
before upload finishes, select CREATE TOPIC button (I know, I know, that was a mistake)
realize mistake, go back and edit topic again.
At this point you get a message indicating progress of your earlier attempt to upload but stuck at the moment when you hit create topic and stopped the upload. It just sits there and nothing happens, and trying to cancel has no effect either. I restarted my phone and returned to the post and I was able to edit the post again with a new upload.

Steps to reproduce:

Scroll down in your "All" list
Go to the badges page (Hamburger menu -> Badges)
When the badges page loads it looks like I have already scrolled to the end of the page, which of course I haven't.

First of all, I'm not sure if putting the "Messages" at the bottom of the menu is a good decision. Personally I think they are more important than Edits or Badges...
Anyway, my main problem with the current interface is, that tapping on any menu item loads the selected content, but doesn't show it. I have to wait for it to load and manually scroll down. That's just bad.
Expected behaviour: After tapping e.g. on "Topics" it should automatically scroll down and show the selected content (e.g. topics list).
It should look something like this (show the selected menu item, e.g. "Topics", and provide an easy way to jump back to the menu):
