I'm a bit surprise to not find any topic on meta discourse related to this feature, I am the only one who would like to have the contribution data over time ? I mean the number of post, topics, users since the creation of the forum.
A first need would be to export in a CSV file the history of the dashboard data so we can plot value and see if and how the community is growing. A second need, would be to directly embed such feature in the dashboard so we can easily see the evolution of contribution.
Hello there! I'm fairly new to Discourse, but I've been using the discourse_api's userGET endpoint to sync with my Rails app. Up until a few versions ago, the GET call would return all of that user's attributes, including the email.
That is no longer the case. Did I miss an obvious change on the API? Or was this something that was never meant to be part of the public interface?
Am I the only one who finds it strange that if I, as an admin/staff, do something like pin a topic, it adds my avatar square to the "Users" column in the /latest (and other) topic lists? It seems that this is kind of a misnomer as I didn't really add anything to the conversation.
The workaround of course is to delete the staff action notification, but that may not always be desirable.
Is there any strong reasoning behind why admins can change post ownership while mods can't?
I'd like to give my moderators this ability (it's helpful in certain situations), but I don't think I feel comfortable making them administrators. Mods already have the ability to manipulate posts in a variety of ways (like editing posts, which is not too dissimilar), so why is adjusting post ownership considered to be off limits for them?
Please add all core plugins (currently only emoji is missing) to Transifex for easier translation. And since Docker Manager is part of the Discourse, it would be great if you could add it too.
I know that this is related to the following topic, but using Transifex (and you automatically updating the translation files) would be a lot easier for translators than creating pull requests.
Normally I get UTC + 2 (my timezone) timestamps for post. If I deactivate JS or look at the HTML source, what I see is UTC - 4 instead. Is this intentional? If so, why?
The original topic title contained quotation marks and the title was enclosed in another set of quotation marks in the private message's title.
Discourse tries to use curly quotes and gets confused. They are in wrong order. I'd expect the outer ones to be curly quotes and the rest of them the normal quotes.
Hi everyone, I am having some trouble completing the installation on red hat enterprise linux 6.5.
Everything is working fine up until the bootstrap process. When I run bootstrap I get the output
Unable to find image 'samsaffron/discourse:1.0.5' locally
Pulling repository samsaffron/discourse

Your Docker installation is not working correctly
I think this could be due to some corporate proxy shenanigans. Could anyone possibly help me with this? I feel I should be able to just manually download that repo to skip the fetch step, but I'm not sure where I would need to place it.
I have a private category on my Discourse site. By "private", I mean only members of certain groups have access to the category. My boss wants the private category displayed to all users so that they can "yearn" (his word) to have access to it. Since the category won't show up for people who are not in the special groups, I created a link to the category using the Admin Stylesheet and Header functions.
When "everyone" people click on the link to the private category, they see the 404 page that says "The page you requested doesn't exist or is private."
I would like "everyone" to be able to request an upgrade to their group membership via an easy-to-find link on that page. Can I add a link, or at least text, guiding them to send a Mod a private message? Or is there a more elegant solution?
