Thanks to Vairix, an organization specialized on Rails who have help us with this, we can now share this customizations. We needed this for our organization, Territorio creativo.
The fourth one, it's a plugin that adds a dynamic sidebar on the right:
This feature are among @peternlewis's interesting suggestions for making discourse more wiki-like, and I think it would be quite helpful to see options in the category settings to turn these on and off. I often find myself going back later to correct this on topics.
I made a typo in this post and went back and edited it, but in the original post, it still shows incorrectly as
If I open the editor to re-edit it, the text is correct in both the edit window and the preview window. It's correct in the quoted version of the post here. It's not correct in the original.
I've navigated away and back, hard-refreshed, etc., but still I'm seeing the typo:
Situation: A topic where I have previously read and am tracking. Someone makes a post which is flagged (as spam) and subsequently hidden. Before it is hidden, someone else makes a reply.
I correctly get an unread topic. However, when I go to the topic, Discourse highlights (the fading blue animation) the post before the hidden post, making it look like it's a new post.
I inadvertently replied to one before I realized it was an old post. It happened to have been a reply to me in the first place, which surely contributed to the confusion. Either way, discourse should highlight the first unread unhidden post instead of going back and highlighting a read post.
I don't know what might happen in case no one replied to the now-hidden post, but I would think it shouldn't show up as unread. Either way, this is probably confusing.
In the client.*.yml we have with_topics parameter with value "%{filter} topics". When {{count}} variable in topic title has non-zero value, it still "New (0) topics" in the title of page.
I am a beginner Discourse user, so I can't clearly understand - is it bug or not. Maybe it is a translation issue. Here are so much parameters with {{}} and %{}, and I can't find any documentation, how to use them correctly.
... is too generic - it's not obvious what is created (a male object, a female object) and how much (one or more) - all this affects translation to Russian and Ukrainian languages.
Please could you clarify how it is used or change it so that the translation is for a sentence and not for a single word. Many thanks.
Hey everyone, I really would like to get discourse up and running on our site. We have a Centos 6 dedicated server with all the resources we need. 16G ram as well as 8 dual core processors. The issue is configuring it. Our end goal is to configure it to run as a comment system.
We are developing a website directory that connects web developers together and works as a complete resource for business owners and JR web developers to connect and exchange ideas as well as connect with the users. Every websites listing we would like to integrate discourse so users can discuss websites. We also have some creative ideas of integrating social media. We do not want two logins system, so we want to bridge the two login systems if possible. This is our end goal, but we cant get off the ground with the idea.
What would be the best method of attack lol. So far it looks like we may have to virtualize an environment with vagrant, but can we do that without affecting our main site in a sub directory? We can also use Docker, but when we try that method its telling me I need a newer version of docker yet we already have the latest from our repo( ERROR: Docker version 1.1.2 not supported, please upgrade to at least 1.2.0, or recommended 1.2.0 ). Can someone help me get started? Also, if leaving advice, please PM me if you are interested in helping and maybe we can work something out as we have a position open currently as a temp.
1) When a user is participating in a forum topic, is there a way to send a notification to everyone, rather than allowing them to choose the type of notification (watching, tracking, regular, muted)
2) is there a way to send a mass notification to all Forum users?
Changing the title from Poll: anything to Closed Poll: anything used to close the poll, but now the poll remains votable-in until the topic itself is closed.
Hi, I just wanted to raise the idea of having a category here dedicated to discussions about the REST API, as a place for people who are interested in consuming the Discourse API to discuss and share experience, and as a place where people who use the API can subscribe to receive relevant updates, such as the recent renaming of the /category/* endpoints.
I wanted to create somewhere to consolidate information about the REST API, so that people wishing to consume the API from code won't need to reinvent any wheels.
First off, here are some API projects in various languages:
Require API keys (generated by a site admin; grant access to all accounts or specific accounts):
This post is a wiki; if you know of any other API projects, please feel free to add them directly.
Next, I would like to discuss how to do some common operations using the api, but before we go ahead with that, I think it would be best to discuss what the use cases are. Has anyone tried else tried to use the Discourse API? What for? What were your requirements? How did you achieve them?

I already owns a discourse site with users and posts. Now I want to start a Wordpress site and enable SSO on discourse using Wordpress as source of user authentication. Is there a way to migrate users from Discourse to Wordpress? Or enable SSO on Wordpress and use discourse as the source as user authentication?
On the Discourse Meta forum, I can change my avatar using this button:
However, on my custom forum (in which users are created using SSO), this button doesn't appear. In addition, I can't change my email address.
This is a problem for our users as it seems impossible (from what I've read) to get Discourse to request a new avatar from Gravatar without changing the user's email address.
Is there a setting I've missed somewhere? Thanks for your help!
