[PAID] Kunena 3 Import assistance

@Kohhal wrote:

What would you like done?

I am following this procedure to import Kunena 3 to Discourse : https://meta.discourse.org/t/importing-from-kunena-3/43776/9

I am having some trouble as you can see from my latest posts in that topic. I need a small bit of assistance from someone who is more familiar with Vagrant and Linux to get past the issue I'm having.

When do you need it done?

In the next week or so.

What is your budget, in $ USD that you can offer for this task?

$30 - this will probably be the easiest $30 dollars you will ever make for what will probably be 10mins work!

Thanks for reading!

ActionView Template Error

@Shaneod wrote:

hi lads - sorry if i am posting this in the wrong section. We're loving our new(ish) Discourse forum.

the site has been unavailable intermittently for the last 24 hours or so. Digital ocean said that "spikes of traffic on the hypervisor hosting your droplet that seem to correlate with your description. However, there's no guarantee that this is related."

Checked the discourse logs and getting a bunch of errors like the following:

ActionView::Template::Error (undefined local variable or method `body_classes' for #<#<Class:0x007f372d224898>:0x007f372c721ae0>)
/var/www/discourse/app/views/layouts/application.html.erb:44:in `_app_views_layouts_application_html_erb__4609051231016884078_69937473377260'

Any ideas what those errors might be and (hopefully) any idea how to fix? The last upgrade failed the last time i tried it, so running 1.6.0.beta11

Thanks,

Shane

I think this would be helpful in seeing who is potential mod material (and which mods are not as active as you would expect a moderator to be).

SSO on Discourse using Atlassian Crowd

@eokolo wrote:

Hello,

We're trying to enable SSO on Discourse using Crowd. We entered the SSO URL (crowd URL) and Application password (we set up the application connection on the Crowd server). However, after enabling SSO in Discourse whenever we try to go to our Discourse URL it's redirected to the Crowd URL. What we want is to enter the Crowd information on Discourse and have Discourse only pull our LDAP information from Crowd and allow people to reach the Discourse login page and get in with the creds being pulled from Crowd. Has anyone run into this issue before?

Thanks!

I've been posting on my website and I noticed that the right part of the site has a huge empty space that could be used perfectly for displaying images at high resolutions or a sidebar.

My question is how can I modify the space used by the body width post images to fit better?

And how I add a sidebar with wadgets, and how I add wadgets

Attempted to update Discourse, frontpage now errors

@Tyler_Humphress wrote:

I tried to update discourse via http://site.com/admin/upgrade which led to a couple errors, so I decided to git pull and ./launcher rebuild app to no avail. When I visit the site frontpage it displays: http://i.imgur.com/TKX9kCX.png and when checking the console for errors in Chrome I have this: http://i.imgur.com/oCFvUkw.png

I've attempted to rebuild once or twice but the same thing happens. I can manually view posts and check the backend and that's about it.

Any help will be appreciated :slight_smile:

How do i fix this?

Missing js.dates.medium.date_month

@probus wrote:

I noticed that medium formatted dates use the key js.dates.tiny.date_month. I guess that's because js.dates.medium.date_month doesn't exist.

This is a bit problematic for languages where the MMM short format doesn't really exist. I'd much rather use MMM only when absolutely necessary (tiny) and MMMM where possible (medium). Currently I have to decide whether to use the same for both tiny and medium formatted dates, because they use the same key.

Would it be possible to add js.dates.medium.date_month key and use it for medium and medium-with-ago formatted dates?

Dutch translation: glossary

@Sander78 wrote:

For current and new translators, here's a list with words and how to translate them. This is to avoid everyone using different translations. Rest of post will be in Dutch.

Stijl

  • track -> volgen
  • watch -> in de gaten houden
  • hot -> populair
  • latest -> recent (i.p.v. laatste)
  • trust level -> trustlevel # vertrouwenslevel klinkt wat oubollig
  • post -> bericht
  • mentioned -> genoemd # voorbeeld: There is no mention of this group wordt Deze groep is niet genoemd.
  • mute -> negeren
  • email -> e-mail # zelfs in het Engels is de officiële schrijfwijze eigenlijk met een -
  • public -> openbaar
  • like -> like # zijn we door Facebook inmiddels zo aan gewend. Zelfs al heet het daar 'vind ik leuk', we spreken over likes. Verder voorkomt het dat er telkens aanhalingstekens omheen moeten. :slight_smile:
  • sorry -> sorry

Todolijst

Om er voor te zorgen dat de al vertaalde strings ook in bovenstaande passen, moet er nog wat gebeuren:

  • Vervang laatste door recente
  • Vervang post door bericht
  • Zet een streepje achter privé

Visual (WYSIWYG) topic templates?

$

@ljpp wrote:

Topic templates are a great feature of Discourse. The Markdown however, makes them visually non-appealing and even difficult to understand for a non-tech user.

**Movie title:**
Enter movie title here
**IMDB link**
Copy paste link here http://imdb.com/...
**Comments on the movie:**
Type here your comments and observations of the movie
**Movie rating**
[poll type=number min=0 max=10][/poll]

Here is an imaginary example for a movies community. It would be great if templates were like web forms, instead of showing the Markdown code. This would enable great use cases for making a structured topic opening post a whole lot easier.

Context:
I asked @codinghorror to reopen a topic and when he wrote me he did (private topic) I accidentally wrote the text I wanted to post in the reopened topic in the private topic. I then copy/pasted that text into the reopened topic, but was not allowed to.

More desktop notifications

@probus wrote:

I've been using the excellent push notifications plugin for a while and would like to see the underlying desktop notifications extended and simplified to make it even more useful.

Apparently you only get notifications of new posts and not likes. I find it unnecessarily confusing that there are two different different notifications systems. It would be much simpler for all the site notifications to create a desktop (and push) notifications as well. Even better if you could choose the type of notifications you want.

Also, it would be great to get notifications for admin stuff like flags and moderation queue. The current implementation of wait at least an hour (usually longer) until you get an email feels very slow when I could get instant push notification instead.

Unexpected behaviour of cursor when editing an image into a post

$

@TechnoBear wrote:

Steps to reproduce:

Create a post of a couple of paragraphs or more.

Return to edit the post, and include an image in the middle of it.

Expected behaviour: after the image has uploaded, the cursor should be at the end of the image, ready to continue the edit.

Actual behaviour: the cursor has jumped to the end of the post.

It happens whether the image is uploaded using the editor upload button, or drag-and-drop.
