I run a political discussion forum and one of my most active members asked me today if there was a way that he could remove bookmarks directly from the bookmarks page without going into each thread. I searched through the previous topics here and didn't see the question asked. Then again, I may not be asking it the right way. If I am missing something in the admin panel please let me know.

How long should it take for an email template to be used for an email? For our internal site we're looking to remove some of the extra stuff from the emails. I've been playing with the customization for
user_posted
, but the emails haven't changed. Here's the current template, but the test email generated from a new topic still looks like normal:
Edit: Just for context, that's not the template we plan on using, just trying to test why the changes weren't going through...

Currently I can add a Default title for all users in this group, but that title is not selectable when I as a admin am changing the title of a users (and thus I have to manually enter it), or if users wants to switch their title.

Hi All
Am a bit confused how the FLAGS system works. A couple questions:
1) When I went to the Flages / ACTIVE tab,
sometimes the flagged post has these options below:
Agree| Disagree | Defer | Delete
other times the flagged post has these options below instead:
Agree | Disagree (unhide post) | Defer | Delete
So under what circumstances the system flags a post and provide the Disagree option only as opposed to Disagree Unhide Post option?
2) I have posts sitting in the Flag / OLD tab, there are no options available for these posts. They should NOT be flagged in the first place and I might have accidentally hit something that placed these posts in the OLD tab.
How can I restore these flagged posts that are sitting in the OLD tab? These are normal posts, they are not spam, I need to restore these posts for the community.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Let's say, I have a component
assets/javascripts/discourse/templates/components/example-component.hbs
:<h2>Hello component!</h2>
And I have a widget
/assets/javascripts/discourse/widgets/example-widget.js.es6
:import createWidget from 'discourse/widgets/widget'; export default createWidget('example-widget', { tagName: 'div', html() { return 'I want to render {{example-component}} in here.'; } });
How can I render a component inside a widget? Thanks.

I've read quite a bit here on meta about users deleting their own topics, and it seems the consensus is it's problematic, with regards to topics disappearing when another user could be composing a reply, and the flaming of a community by posting antagonizing topic titles and then quickly deleting them.
I read a suggestion by @sam that a user could flag their own topic and ask for it to be deleted in 'Something Else'. Which seems reasonable enough, but the flag system doesn't communicate with the OP directly, it comes from a stance that it's communicating with another user about the OP.
Would there be any mileage in having a 'please delete my topic' option shown only to the OP when the OP self flags?

I have a Discourse setup, 1.6.6, stock install. Email functionality is working perfectly, except signup emails.
When I try to create a new test user in incognito mode, the email is not sent. If I try to click "Send Activation Email" as admin, it's the same, nothing sent.
It's not even visible in
/admin/email/sent
, or in skipped or bounced or rejected list. It simply disappears. What is happening?

Maybe the easiest way to reproduce this problem: use the Restore Previous Session feature of Firefox, as demonstrated in this screen recording: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1G6-Ym42bEick1Lem8tWWFhVDQ
Nothing exotic amongst the plugins, I don't imagine any of these contributing to the problem:
I reproduced the problem with a clean Firefox 49.0.2 profile, and a comparably mundane set of plugins, on pre-release Mac OS X 10.12.2.

I have a client that would like to customize (read: insert ads into) outgoing all-mail and daily-summary emails for people in mailing list mode and the since-your-last-visit email. "Go ahead" was my knee-jerk reaction, but it seems that those messages somehow are not in the list of templates in
/admin/customize/email_templates
.This thread from a year ago asked a similar question.
Is the easiest/best way to customize those messages to write a plugin?

I'd like to add an extra tab to the admin dashboard which would allow one to carry out specific actions.
For example, generate a report and email it as an attachment.
Are there any guidelines available for plugins?

I have some forums setup in English and wanted to get them setup in multiple languages as well. For each language I'd like the user to see the registration details and their settings to be in their language rather than just English.
My question is should I create a separate forum for each language which requires users to register for 2 or more if they wanted to post on 2 languages or is it possible to have everything setup in 1 forum? My guess is it would be best practice to create separate forums where if users needed English and another language, 2 signups are required.

I use Chrome Incognito to access a Forum run on Discourse.
In Sept, an Admin posted a Pinned topic. In Oct, she changed the setting to: "This topic is now a banner. It will appear at the top of every page until it is dismissed by the user."
On Incognito, that means I've "dismissed" that post/thread every day, multiple times a day, since it was first created Sept 9th.
How do I make this go away so I'm not X-ing out (dismissing the post) multiple times a day for the rest of my time on that Forum? (Regular Chrome, of course, easily dismissed the post/thread long ago and retained that information. )
I recognize it likely has to do with Incognito purposely not retaining browsing history and possibly related to info stored in a cookie? Do I need to delete the cookie? If so, will I need to look for that site's forum cookie, or a Discourse cookie?
If not a cookie, what can I do to fix this? It likely affects anyone else using Incognito on that Forum.
