Is it just me or Discourse in the multidocker setup (data container on a different phisical server) cannot get back from error 500 state after reseting the DB server/container?
When I shutdown the DB server, my web_only container returns error 500 to the browser (obviously). When I start the data container up again, the web_only container needs to be restarted for Discourse to be up and running again. Can you fix this?

I need to change my email id that I entered with in an organisation(discuss.pytorch.org). But when I click on change email id, it says check email on new email address. But it's been more than an hour and still nothing. I've clicked that button a lot of times and nothing happens. I'm still a new user btw, if that has something to do with it. But I want it to be fixed

Continuing the discussion from Big emoji in notification emails:
We just added some custom Emoji to Stonehearth, and they're appearing large in email. Anything we can do to fix it, or is this a regression?

I have run a test install for a while. I am now ready to do it for good. Is there a way to reset everything, and run the initial setup (as a new install) without wiping the container? Thanks!

When a user decides to post anonymously does that user each get a seperate anon user or is it wrapped into one account?
When I post under anon and then check the users i see any edits I did under notifications and such.

As the title says. I'm unable to find correct instructions to increase file upload limit of my Discourse installation. This is what I know...
My Discourse installation is hosted on a droplet at Digital Ocean, utilizing the one-click installation. I suspect that this is the reason I don't see some of what is mentioned in the instructions regarding this setting change.
I've also seen it mentioned that increasing the upload limit that it is simply a "parameter" now.... Since I'm still new to Discourse, "parameter" means nothing to me. I gather that I'm supposed to add a line to the web.template.yml file, however, I cannot locate this file.
I'm sure many of you are smacking your head as you read my question, but as much searching as I've done in here, I have yet to find some of this info.
Thanks in advance for any help that you're willing to offer!

I had a user unable to receive their password reset email. I checked the logs at SparkPost and it said because they were on a suppression list there. So I checked SparkPost's suppression list and it listed the user, but said their action had been to "Unsubscribe" from "non-transactional" emails.
I googled a bit to see what that meant and I got the impression that non-transactional emails aren't directly requested by the user, e.g. notifications, summaries, newsletters, that type of thing.
I removed the user from this suppression list and they were able to receive Discourse's password reset email.
Shouldn't the password reset email have been considered transactional since it was directly requested and gone through anyway? Or do I misunderstand the terms?

I have created custom category field enable_bump_topic (by example of @SamSaffron's discourse-solved plugin). But I don't seem to get how could I access this custom field when on Topic. I created canBump computed property for Topic (https://github.com/jannolii/discourse-bump-topic/blob/master/assets/javascripts/discourse/initializers/extend-topic-for-bump-button.js.es6) but I only get value out from Category's custom field when I first visit Category and open Edit form and then go to this Categroy's topic. If I go directly to Topic I get undefined when try to access custom_fields. It's like custom_fields doesn't exist before I go and look at the Category settings.
What am I missing? What am I not getting?
My (still very raw) project: https://github.com/jannolii/discourse-bump-topic

This is mostly a problem in the what are you listening to thread, if I'm checking out videos and then pause one and move on to the next, when I scroll up or down on that bar thing to get to new "pages" (even though its just continuous but you get what I'm saying) it will resume every single paused video.

Our forum was created by importing a long running forum with 1.8 million posts, and about 34K user accounts. A great many of the user accounts are "dormant" in the sense that that account hasn't been activated since we migrated to discourse.
If a user mentions or PMs one of those accounts I get a bounce (if the email address is no longer valid), but otherwise the mail goes out.
We don't want to anonymize the historical posts, or deactivate any accounts (The historical content may include useful information and some of the users may come back), what I would like to be able to do is inform the user sending the PM that the account isn't active.
Something like a popup which says:
"CodingHorror" hasn't been active since 1998-3-4, so he probably won't still be interested in buying hamsters"

Hello! Yesterday installed this engine, but today, for the first time trying to install plugins, encountered difficulties: during the command SSH-terminal "./launcher rebuild app", the following occurs:
What could be the problem? I following a hair's breadth of these instructions: https://meta.discourse.org/t/install-a-plugin/19157.
Here is end of my file app.yml, if it can help (line number 90 noted "!! this" now):
hooks: after_code: - exec: cd: $home/plugins cmd: - mkdir -p plugins - git clone https://github.com/discourse/docker_manager.git (!! this) - git clone https://github.com/discourse/discourse-spoiler-alert.git - git clone https://github.com/gnunicorn/discourse-plugin-pm-button.git - git clone https://github.com/angusmcleod/discourse-header-search.git - git clone https://github.com/kasperpeulen/discourse-mathjax.git run: - exec: echo "Beginning of custom commands" - exec: echo "End of custom commands"
Plugins folder now is empty, how I looked.
Thank you! Maybe this problem I can avoid installing these plugins manually using the SSH-terminal, without edit app.yml?

Hi there Discourse community,
I work for a charity and we have just launched our community. I will have to report on the success of it to our senior management board soon so I was hoping anybody could explain the meaning of the stats in the admin dashboard to me.
Im a community manager not a developer and fairly new to Discourse so I'm not a 100% how to interpret the stats provided by Discourse - I can't find a definition of each anywhere. I'm particularly interested in the list below:
User Visits
New Users
Topics
Posts
Time to first respondSo for instance what counts as a post - is this replies to topics or does it also include the initial topic? Is an user visit similar to a session in Google analytics? Is there a way to see total (page) views? What does time to first respond mean? Is there a way to see the amount of active members (have either posted or started a topic) in relation to total amount of members?
Any tips are very welcome!
Thank you!
