How to exclude categories from email notifications? Or set prioritized categories?

Missing translation keys for group "everyone" and "trust_level_0"

Broken database oauth and weird behaviour after hostname change

I don't know how to fix the database...

The other one should probably go in a new post, but I'll let you be the judge.

When I press the 3 lined settings button, the top right most button alongside the search one, the whole menu disappear. Here's what I get on chrome console:

Uncaught NotFoundError: Failed to execute 'insertBefore' on 'Node': The node before which the new node is to be inserted is not a child of this node.

When I go to any topic, I get the same behaviour, but the whole bottom screen goes blank. And this on the same js console:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'removeChild' of undefined

You can just go there right now and try those errors yourself, but I'll be trying to fix 'em!

Image popover/hover doesn't show except on .png's

I uploaded a number of images to the Staff->Assets post after first setting up my discourse install (the docker install). Tonight however, I realized it's working just fine for png's but nothing else. I tested this by swapping a jpeg for a png and a few minutes later it was working again where the previous jpeg wasn't.

If, by chance, it's a limitation of some sort or a purposely implemented feature would there be an alternate way to handle it? Maybe automatic conversion to png or an admin option to turn off the hover box entirely. I like it but if it's limited to png's it's kinda weird to have. I feel like the end users will think the same as I did at first and see it as a broken feature.

Random side note: Thanks for Discourse. I really enjoy using it. It's an awesome alternative to old school forums. You guys have done a top notch job with this.

My stance is pretty simple. Language is defined by its use and not its history. Today, we use the terms "forum (software)" and "bulletin board (system)" interchangeably, and most people would not be able to tell you the difference between the two.

Wikipedia describes forum software as an evolution of bulletin board systems (and phpBB is its first example!). -- So you could say that a forum is a forum and a bulletin board same as a human is a human and a primate.

If you go googling for either forum or bbs software, you'll find exactly the same thing. There are no widespread "forum vs bbs" debates or separate lists of the two. And more often than not, "forum" is the key term while "bbs" is a byline.

There could be any amount of experts with well thought out definitions of the two (according to them) different terms, and it doesn't matter one bit as long as Wikipedia, Google and the vast majority of The Internet population disagrees with them.

Discourse is a forum. Discourse is a bulletin board system.

(For the record I don't say "GNU/Linux" either. Now you know what side I'm on)

It's really dodgy that you don't even mention anything about this anywhere. The description for the current version checks setting says:

Ping the Discourse Hub for version updates and show version messages on the /admin dashboard

At the very least, you should change this text to reflect what is actually happening, i.e. you collecting site stats about Discourse installs.

Now, I now Disqus ain't exactly open source, but I think Wordpress do offer a global login. If it's all opt-in, for the site owner and for the user, it should be fine, shouldn't it?

I'm talking about the notification balloon up top, something like we have on StackExchange network, where we get notified for every site we belong. Makes sense?
