I was wondering if there's a way to programmatically do something (like ping a REST endpoint externally) whenever a topic is posted? My small group uses Slack for ephemeral communication and Discourse for others, so I'd like to set up a way to post a new topic notification to something like a Slack webhook. Similar things could be done for IRC or short messaging services like Twitter.
Hi. There is logs of changes for posts but is there a way to restore old version of post? Sure, I can copy and paste text from old version but I'll have to do formating manually.
So I'm thinking, they all start with CC which makes life easier, so I could regex for CC* against an array of the API classes? The actual URL links are straightforward which helps.
Would this be most similar to say the emoji plugin?
It would be great as a 2.0 to have the option to pull in info like it does with GitHub links, specify a class and method and it would pull in the documentation.
This is a feature request for a setting allowing us to disable the automatic pin/unpin messages that appear when pinning/unpinning topics (as described in this topic: Order of pinned topics and deleting pin messages
I know this is early days, with Let's Encrypt not being available until Summer 2015 - but I was wondering if there are any plans on having this be part of the options (or dare I say the default option) for the docker-based install?
Having the SSL cert for the site being one less thing to worry about would be fantastic.
So it is my understanding that a post flagged by TL 3 when the user is TL 0 will be automatically hidden. However, TL 4 flagging a TL 0 post as Spam does not automatically hide.
Seems related to this code:
Repro Steps:
Change a user to TL 4
Create a new User and create a Post/Topic
As the TL 4 user, Flag the newly created Post/Topic as Spam
Expectations: Post should be hidden.
Actual: Post remains visible and the Flag appears in the Admin > Flags area.
I am trying to see where are the deleted topics but I can't find them anywhere. I am running the latest version 1.2.0.beta2.
I assume they are still in the system after being deleted because my embedded code is not showing me a message saying I can't access that page anymore.
I wish I could delete them completely. Right now my only solution is to hack the content of 'discourseEmbedUrl'... not great.
I have the wp-discourse installed on my WordPress site pointing to my discourse instance. It did pull comments over initially but it has recently stopped. I have done quite a bit of changes to the site since realizing this since its a new site i am setting up. I have checked the discourse logs as well as the site logs (apache, PHP). I dot not see any errors that would cause this issue.
Is there any other debugging i can turn on to see why its no longer pulling comments over?
I will add that the plugin does post new posts on wordpress over to Discourse.
Also does the plugin cache the comments its pulls over. Cause the comments that came over when it was working still show up on the wordpress site. Just nothing new is coming over.
En första grej är att "topic" både översätts till "ämne" och "tråd" just nu. Jag tycker nog "Ämne" är bättre, det är det som står i ordlistan just nu också.
I have a topic that I don't think I want to stick around for all the world to see, but think it would be ok for those who are in the know to be able to go back to it. Will making it invisible also hide it from Google, et al?
I want to contract with a developer to develop an app for my web site (android and iphone) that will include integrated access to my forums (with inapp message notifications).
One developer I'm talking to has conveyed this "There's currently no official REST api for Discourse. It looks like it is still under development and there is poor or no documentation at all. As a consequence, the API might be buggy and lacking at this stage."
Can anyone update me on the status, timing and plan for an official REST API for Discourse?
Hi, I need help with a Discourse integration into my WP site. My site is already running Discourse and Wordpress, and I am open to changing the WP template.
I need to modify my wordpress template to... 1.- show the most active post of the last week 2.- show featured/most replied post of the last week 3.- show featured/latest member of the last week 4.- show last 10 members who have logged in 5.- use singe-sign-in with WP and Discourse
All these photos are on iPhone 4S with Safari. (Androids were the same.)
I tried with simple CSS display: none; but I failed. (Perhaps I put wrong CSS indicators?)
How can I solve this?
If I can disable these kind of popups on mobile specifically, that would be nice. (Then what about tablets?)
Plus, I wanted to know how it looks on mobile Chrome. So I tried with the latest Chrome mobile on iPhone 4S.
Then I realized that it was really hard to use Discourse with it. Can't click properly, Can't type properly. Tried to type contents and something weird happened. It seemed like keyboard shortcut activated.
