Can't run a bundle exec command

Hi,

I’m trying to run the following command:

bundle exec script/discourse remap $OLD_PATH $NEW_PATH

But I get the error:

bundler: failed to load command: script/discourse (script/discourse)
PG::ConnectionBad: FATAL: Peer authentication failed for user "discourse"

I just install my forum from this guide: discourse/INSTALL-cloud.md at master · discourse/discourse · GitHub
I’m running the last version of Discourse.
Everything works well on the forum, I also can run rails c and have a Ruby console connected to the DB.

In the environment I have RAILS_ENV=production.

Thanks for your help

Enabling team/group to mark topic solved when it is `email in` and the user is staged

When a topic is created via email in, and the user is currently staged, then obviously the owner of the topic is not there to mark a particular post as the solution.

Would there be a way for the category’s team/group to be able to mark posts as solutions within their category, if the topic is created via email in and the owner is a staged user?

When you use the Select -> “Move to new topic” feature, there is no keyboard shortcut to execute the form submission after selecting a category and giving the new topic its title.

Ctrl + Enter would be the expected shortcut I think.

Are the staff tags needed to be visible by users in the tag-page?

number of tags may be much more than 10-15 in a forum, and I think hiding less irrelevant choices such as staff-tags for users would be a point for users.

at least in our case, we use staff-tags for topics related to staffs. as a result it’s not necessary to show this kind of sorting to users in the tag-page, as well as tag-drop down filter. I’m not sure how others use the staff tags?

isn’t it better, not to show the staff tags in the tag-page as well as tag-filter to non-admins?

non-Persian numbers in of a Persian forum

after the new common mark have been installed, the list numbers are becoming English in our forum which is Persian. that is:

  1. if you want to start a numbered-list, you should first change the language of your keyboard and type the number and switch back to Persian. this is needed for all the numbered item in a list.

  2. after you have created your topic, the numbers in the list are shown in English. there’s no way to select the numbers and change the font, or at least I couldn’t find any div regarding the numbers.

can anyone hint me what to do? (the first problem is not that good, and make users to escape from creating numbered list).

Get number of likes for a single post?

Hello,
I’m trying to get the number of likes for a single post via the API, but can’t seem to find it…

I see a like_count for the entire topic, but can’t seem to find the individual like count for each post in either /t/123.json or /posts/222.json.

I noticed that I can get a list of users who liked a post via /post_action_users.json and add them up manually, but what is the recommended way to to get the “like count” for an individual post?

Thanks!

Public-facing date for when a user progressed past TL0

@Drew_Warwick wrote:

Our Discourse forum is semi-private. A number of our categories are public for viewing, but TL0 users cannot post in any section, send PMs, etc. I’m not sure how many of Discourse’s customers use Discourse for private forums, but if there are a significant number of them, it’d be great if join dates on profiles could accommodate private forums.

Right now if I want to see when a member was added to the forums, I have to guess based off of their posts (which may be inaccurate if they rarely post or don’t have any), as join date is for when they signed up – not when they were invited to post on the forums. There could be a potential problem where “What do we do if they were added, demoted to TL0, and then re-promoted?”: the first time they were invited would be more useful for my needs as I want to know how long they’ve been a part of the community, rather than a changelog of their trust level. Would be great to hear others’ use cases / opinions though.

for the rtl language, the admin customize panel becomes like this (when showing the options for a theme):

you can see the white space. Checking the Mozilla console, it’s been produced with this line of code:

of course it can be tuned via the css-customization, but I think for the rtl language it meant to be like this:

.customize .show-current-style{
margin-right: 20px;

When a modal dialog is opened – like the “Invite to topic” dialog – global keyboard shortcuts still fire (unless the input is captured by an input on the modal). This means that you can, for example, inadvertently start composing topics, or perform actions on posts (like “like”, “bookmark”, etc.)

I run into this not infrequently as I keep expecting to be able to invite multiple people to a topic at once – and once I’ve chosen the first person, I start typing the next person’s name, and all sorts of stuff starts happening in the background. :slight_smile:

Invite multiple people to a thread

I often find myself wanting to invite multiple people to a thread – for example, to alert our support team and the relevant relationship manager to a post. As it stands, I have to invite each person individually, closing the modal each time. This was raised two or so years ago – Multiple invites on single thread? – and the advice was to use the API. That makes sense for lots of invites, but for just one or two, it’d be great to do this from the UI.

I do think it’s worthwhile imposing a limit here – maybe 5? – but the current limit of one is quite frustrating. The UI – admittedly not the text – suggests that multiple users would be supported, as it reuses the same user-selection control as for group membership.
