Hello!
I have a question. I noticed that when checking the “modified date” of a topic on Discourse, the modified date always corresponds to the date in which the page is being browsed.
Is there some way to alter the Last Modified date, at least in topic pages?
Thanks.

I recently lost my 100 day streak thanks to some bug I think I found. I have visited everyday this past week, yet my visits aren’t 8, they are 7. I think it happened yesterday, but I just don’t get it. So I am just wondering, what makes a “consecutive” day?
Ideas:
You have to visit
You have to visit a topic
You have to read x amount of posts
You have to post
You have to spend x amount of time on the forum
Does consecutive mean visit in each 24 your period in my time zone, or I have to visit again within 24 hours? Or is there some universal time frame that I would have to visit in to be considered me visiting that day?

Hello,
Me again. Sorry for so many questions.
For our forum, we have a separate topic for individual exam questions.
Here is an example:
For each question, we plan on including a poll where students can rate the difficulty of the question from one to ten.
Would it be possible to create a page that shows a consolidated view of the average rating for each question/topic (as determined by the polls), and orders the questions/topics based on the average rating? The topics are in multiple categories (ex/ Spring 2017, Fall 2017), which are all under a single parent category (Past Exams).
Please let me know if you would like further clarification.
Thanks!

In our case, we aren’t wanting the solved thing to be prominent, but it’s used in places all over. Can we make it so that all users, including the one who started a topic, only see the “solution” icon behind the extra … action menu?
If not, is this topic an adequate notice of a request to add such a setting?

I’m on a self-hosted instance and like to stay up-to-date with Discourse core.
Sometimes I get nervous about upgrading as the latest build has failing tests:
I’m on the master branch (I think):
$ cd /var/discourse $ git status On branch master
So I wondered if perhaps I should switch to the
tests-passed
branch instead - hoping that this would contain the latest revision whose CI build and test phases had succeeded. However, it seemstests-passed
is unstable:So I’m a bit confused, and a bit scared . I’d like to take in some recent updates to Discourse core - is there a way I can upgrade to a known-good version?

So im following this guide to setup a offline page for when the forum goes down for whatever reason but ive run into 2 issues. The two issues im running into are that nginx is not redirecting 502 errors to the offline page and when both discourse and nginx are running i cant reach the forums.
/etc/nginx/sites-available/default.conf

/etc/nginx/nginx.conf

NOTE: i added theinclude /etc/nginx/site-available/*.conf;
line because it would only load the default config
/var/discourse/containers/app.yml

last night I did the update to the latest release 2.0.0.beta 3 v2.0.0.beta3 +125
About an hour later the problems did start.
Even app restarts did only help for a few minutes, after around 5 minutes the redis timeouts did always reoccur. Even a server reboot did not help. (I had also installed all linux patches)I did now at least 5 times in a row a “docker restart app” after every timeout and now it is running already for at least 20 minutes without any problem.
Sorry to say but I do not have any clue why it is now working and did not work before.
But nevertheless I wanted to inform you. I had seen that these kind of problems had also occured a couple of times in December redis timeouts 1 and redis timeouts 2So you can close the support case, it is just for the records.

Hi guys,
To make my setup less complicated per @codinghorror’s advice, and since Let’s Encrypt now support subdomains, I decided to move my discourse from foo.bar/forum to forum.foo.bar
What I did:
Changed the domain name in my app.yml, removed the folder remap from custom commands, then remapped foo.bar/forum to forum.foo.bar via discourse remap, then I rebaked posts.
The problem is this:
When I open https://forum.foo.bar/ it’s trying to fetch https://stylesheets/etc which then causes the forum display to break and I can’t really log in or change the website theme.
What can I do to fix that?
If needed, here’s the installation url: https://forum.legiochristi.com/
My app.yml: ## this is the all-in-one, standalone Discourse Docker container template ## # - Pastebin.comAny help would be appreciated.

I tried doing something like this the other day:
I had a “conversation” on Twitter and wanted to pull it over to Discourse.
I guess there are 2 options I am thinking here which could be interesting.
Make the Twitter onebox more dynamic so you can “expand replies” like you do for Discourse.
Perhaps… a mode where you can embed “expanded” so the entire conversation is expanded nicely.
This is not super common so not something particularly urgent, but something to think about.

Hi! A better title would be very appreciated.
This topic is just to say that if you use textLikeThisButMuchLonger you can make your autobiography scroll to the far right. I don’t really understand this feature, because wouldn’t it be better (for people on mobile devices, I guess) to just scroll down?
Sorry if there’s another topic about this, I couldn’t find it.
