Can someone please help me on updating the existing language from scratch step by step.
Turkish translation is missing some parts as I attached a screenshot.

I did chang the local files in config/locales by entering the app.

./launcher enter app

also tried to clear cache which worked ok but didnot change anything

RUBY_GC_MALLOC_LIMIT=90000000 RAILS_ENV=production bundle exec rake assets:clean

Tried to reboot server, rebuilding app, precompile...

i am missing something.

I wanted to force all our community's users to use Github auth instead of allowing for email-based signup. After configuring this, impersonated a user. Once I signed out, I was unable to get back into the admin account.

What's the best way to regain admin access?

Since todays rebuild, it's official (I thought I read about this somewhere, but cannot find it). Since this can really be a show-stopper, especially for new Discourse-admins, I will file it officially:

Docker Manager does not escape anything in the SMTP password. If you use quotes, they will be stripped. Therefore, any hash sign (and probably some other special characters) will be fatal for your SMTP connectivity…

Working RSS feeds for Discourse

wrote:

I really needed an RSS feed for my Discourse instance because it is not so active but when someone is posting I wanna know and I often forget to check it.

Then I remembered I already used Yahoo! Pipes to create RSS feeds for other sites not providing them, so I quickly created this:

You can test it while making it and see the results in the bottom of the screen. Once finished, save, then run pipe, then choose "Get as RSS" and copy the URL that opens.

The XPath query string is: //div[contains(concat(' ', @class, ' '), ' topic-list ')]//a[contains(@href,'/t/')]

Results can be seen here: http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=f3dfeafb497bb8bad79a3d2dca745ba5&_render=rss

The only problems I see so far are a) it shows only topics displayed on page load and 2) pinned topics are pinned in RSS feed too frowning

Looking to switch to Discourse - Skinning issues

Bill Snider wrote:

I'd like to post an image of what I'm dealing with but I'm new. So, I'm looking to do some reskin of Discourse to match what our current community looks like, and I'm having a couple of issues.

  1. I can't seem to find how to diminish the vertical space in the topic list categories on the front page. Right now the only class that I'm seeing for this is

.topic-list.categories > tbody > tr:nth-child(2n+1) {
background-color: #FFF;
}

I've been able to move the sub-categories up to sit along side of my category icons, but I'm left with a lot of unnecessary space below the category image.

Maybe I can post an image soon.

Vbulletin to Discourse

Chadi wrote:

Hi folks,

Looking to migrate over from the antiquated vBulletin 4 platform to Discourse possibly and had a few questions:

Important features that I need:
- censoring (word filters)
- WordPress SSO (if a WP user is logged in, automatically logged into Discourse and vice versa PLUS sign-up via discousrse, even through social media will automatically create/link to the WP blog with the SSO plugin)
- gender based forum access (men cannot access women only forum, vice versa)
- anti spam controls
- social account login (FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google)
- hashtags (tags) and twitter like mentions "@username"
- auto convert social media posts (audio, video, images bbcodes).

I was told that the social login, word censor and user tagging @ is default. What about others above? Need to plan this out carefully.

Is there any plans to support install in other Linux distros aside Ubuntu? Like Centos would be nice.

Also, can the home set to category as default view AND with separated spacing between parent forums such as in other typical forums? It's a bit cluttered the way it's one straight listing as is, IMO.

Hi guys,

I updated Docker Manager today and since updating the admin/upgrade page is totally blank!

Things I have tried:

  • Multiple Browsers
  • Clearing Cache in browser
  • ./laucher app rebuild

Also - prior to updating the docker the latest update was grayed out (I assumed this was because docker manager was out of date which is why I performed that update).

I did a search for this but did not find, even though I think it has probably been discussed before.

I had a request for the ability to move a post to a specific place in a topic discussion. e.g. someone has written a reply in the wrong topic and meanwhile the destination topic has progressed, and we'd like to slot in the post in the appropriate place.

Thanks for any guidance!

How to install my customized repo of discourse on production server?

Erick Guan wrote:

Willing to change emoji for your Discourse? Here we go.

Emoji set

Discourse ship with 4 different emoji sets. They are:

  • Apple/International style
  • Google style
  • Twitter style
  • Emoji One style

You can switch them in Posting site settings or search emoji_set.

Custom emoji

It's also possible to add some emoji for your Discourse site. For now, you can't override the emoji in the emoji set.

Go to: Discourse Admin - Customize - Emoji.

You can:

  • Enter a name and click Add New Emoji to select a photo as a emoji.
  • Or select multiple files and drag them into Name field. Filename will be used to name the emoji.
